We are deeply honoured to welcome Prof. Hamisi Masanja Malebo as a Distinguished Keynote Speaker at the 4th FAR4ViBE Scientific Conference 2026. Prof. Malebo is a prominent Tanzanian Research Scientist and Professor specializing in medicinal phytochemistry, natural products chemistry, environmental chemistry, health research, and WASH.

With extensive expertise across natural products, health research, environmental chemistry, and WASH, Prof. Malebo has published over 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers and contributed significantly to research, innovation, and evidence-based policy formulation in Tanzania.

In his keynote address, “The Contribution of Scientific Research in the Implementation of Vision 2050 and Research Funding for Industrial Development in Tanzania,” Prof. Malebo will illuminate how targeted scientific research, strategic research funding mechanisms, and innovation ecosystems serve as catalyst pillars for Tanzania's Vision 2050 and sustainable industrial development.

Prof. Malebo holds a Diploma in Education specializing in Chemistry and Biology (1990) and a B.Sc. specializing in Chemistry and Biology (1996), followed by an M.Sc. in Natural Products Chemistry (2000). He completed his PhD in Medicinal Phytochemistry (2009) via a joint program between Kenyatta University in Kenya and the University of Basel in Switzerland.

In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. Malebo has built strong international research ties, serving as a visiting researcher at the Southern China Botanical Garden (SCBG) in Guangzhou, Shijiazhuang North Pharmaceutical Company in China, and the School of Pharmacy at the University of Milan and University of Camerino in Italy.

Currently serving as the Executive Secretary (Secretary General) of the UNESCO National Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania, Prof. Malebo brings a wealth of leadership experience spanning the UN, AU, and EU to advance scientific research funding, industrial growth, and national development agendas.
