The Section will perform the following activities:-

• Identify research projects in aquaculture to be crarried by the Institute
• Prepare and co-ordinate aquaculture research in the country
• Make follw-up on the implementation and execution of approaved aquaculture research project and programmes
• Co-ordiante and preparation of aquaculture research progress reports of the Institute
• Prepare and maintain systems of documentation and dissemination of aquaculture research findings
• Coordinate publication of aquaculture research findings
• Promote research and development of suitable fishing gears in fershwaters
• Promote research and development of suitable fishing, handling and processing technologies soa s to reduce post-harvest losses from aquaculture; and
• Review aquaculture sientific publications published by researchers
